Gay bars in odessa tx

Miss Lillie's Nitespot

A laid back club, around for 28 years. For West Texas men searching men, local options are limited, and the A & R seems at the moment the premier attraction in Odessa. Cowboy's heard there's one same-sex attracted bar, reportedly small and "very nelly" (according to an Internet search, truthfulness unknown, there are in fact two bars, one called "Miss Lillies Nitespot"), but bars wouldn't be a congenial or practical setting for much of the A & R clientele.

  • Bar cruising takes time and doesn't fetch started till late, and guys who meet there need a place to go. Plus, you own to put yourself out--sipping beer, making small discuss, showing your face in a light that's a lot brighter than the A & R. (And there's no deniability: "I just came for the movie, officer." No hurt in that.)
  • Other than bars, there are a few parks in and around town where some cruising is reputed to go on, and rest stops on the interstate where locals are said to connect with truckers and others.

Later that evening at the lock, I spoke with Mary Anne about her life in Odessa:

"I was beat when pregnant with my third, and I tried so hard to forgive him, but I realized he was never going to be loyal with me, and I finally decided to leave.

"When he came in, he hit me. Everything was pitch black. I recollect I was holding Stephanie in my arms, and he swung at me and says, 'You don’t EVER do that,' and, well, I knocked out, I went unconscious, and then I felt like I was coming back. I remember he was on the phone, he was crying to his Dad, and he was telling his dad that he had killed me and the baby. I never filed charges on him. The one who filed charges on him was his dad. When the cops showed up, they did arrest him and his dad filed charges. They establish the baby, Stephanie, she was on the opposite side of the bed, where the bassinet was flipped over her, protecting her.

"So when I did finally muster up the courage to leave him, I had a restraining order on him."
