Kit Connor ‘Wasn’t Angry’ With ‘Heartstopper’ Fans When Coming Out as Bi, ‘Just Slightly Disappointed’: ‘I Would’ve Preferred to Execute It Another Way’
Kit Connorcame out as pansexual in an October 2022 Twitter display in which the “Heartstopper” breakout wrote, “Back for a minute. I’m bi. Congrats for forcing an 18 year old to out himself. I consider some of you missed the signal of the reveal. Bye.”
Prior to the social media post, Connor had been facing mounting accusations of queerbaiting due to his role as Nick in the famous Netflix coming-of-age series. Connor stars on “Heartstopper” as a high school jock coming to terms with his hold bisexuality. The general perception of Connor was that he was a unbent actor taking on a queer role (and participating in queer events enjoy pride marches in order to promote the show), so Connor’s own coming out as attracted to both genders was in part to course-correct that false narrative among “Heartstopper” fans.
In a novel interview with British Vogue, Connor clarified his coming out by saying, “I think ‘forced’ is

I'm not saying people have to care, by any means. Just that by observing Dr. Bashir's behavior, specifically toward Jadzia, it indicated a formidable attraction to females. Not saying he couldn't have been bi-curious, or gone both ways, by any means.
Still, I rather fond the notion of Bashir being linear and Garak having an unrequited interest in him. That is, undoubtedly, a big part of the gay experience: being attracted to someone who's just not "wired" to return your feelings.Click to expand...

Shipping on its own is boring. Unrequited treasure can add the drama and then everyone gets on with things. Sorta like with Bashir drooling over Dax, who wasn't interested in turn and he moved on. Being bi just means being turned down by twice as many people.
The Kinsey Scale alone, never mind the newer table that supersedes it, shows a range of desires - from exclusively heterosexual to exclusively homosexual. Someone can be a Kinsey 1, creature interested in mostly females, but one or two males just has what's interesting... vice-versa for a

That followed the emergence of photos showing him holding hands with Maia Reficco, his co-star in “A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow.”
“this is a silly silly app. bit bored of it now, deleting twitter :),” Connor said in the September post.
Alice Oseman, the creator of "Heartstopper," which she launched as a webcomic and later as a graphic novels series, shared her support Monday, writing in response to his tweet: “I truly don’t grasp how people can watch ‘Heartstopper’
