Shank gay film
Ruthless Culture
Interesting comments from all. However, as the co-writer/producer (and British) may I make some comments?
Firstly and thankfully the one American voice on the performance wanted us to dial the film CHAV but we felt that this would most definitely pander to the preconception that this was a porn-lookalike-exploitation tale. So we stuck to SHANK a British colloquialism for cock/dick/penis and also appropriately also slang for a knife!
Secondly the film was intended by the writers to be something that challenged the too frequently produced (on both sides of the atlantic) saccharine lovey dovey ‘will he won’t he’ come out/fall for college classmate fare that has graced our screens for years now. This is a brutal care for story that shows beauty and horror. It is a love story both tender and violent – as in real existence. It is we deliberate a return to the social realism of cinema wrapped around a male lover story. And this makes it different and fresh and fresh as over 50 festival directors own commented. Incidents in the film are mostly all taken from real experience situations or personal experiences that have happened here in the UK.

Different strokes and all that, but Shank gave me enough wood to find through a extended, cold winter. Directed by Simon Pearce, the English drama divides neatly into three acts. The first is sexy, the second intimate and the third somewhat dramatically confusing.
Cal (Wayne Virgo), whose barely glimpsed screen name provides the film’s title, hooks up online with Scott (Garry Summers), an older, nervous man, and drives him to the woods for sex. Afterwards Cal gives Scott a head-banging that leaves him black-eyed and bleeding, and abandons him there.
Back in his own element, Cal is a member of a teenage gang. He has a crush on his best buddy, Jonno (Tom Bott), who seems to return it but not acknowledge it; and is crushed on in rotate by Nessa (Alice Payne), whom he avoids as much as possible.
This existence the 21st century, these kids video everything, from vicious beatings to furtive sexual encounters, with their mobile phones. Cal uses his own sex tapes for J/O material.
Worlds collide when the gang spots Olivier (Marc Laurent) on the street with bags from high-end stores. He’s not only gay and wealthy, but French. Jonno and Nessa jump him, plunder his packages and beat

MoreCheaply made with a bit of bad dialogue and a slight bit of amateur acting. But it’s a great slice of realism, showing what it’s like to be gay while submerged in gang culture or any oppressive homophobic environment that includes toxic masculinity. I passion how Olivier shows Cal there’s a world outside of what he is used to. I’m surprised this hasn’t received higher ratings.
Trigger warning: rape
i don’t remember this episode of skins…
ok but damn this production is so fucking bleak and hopeless </3
This might be the first day I’ve gotten motion sick watching a guy beat off.
The guy who was beating off vomited like 2 minutes later. So…
Admittedly, I thought I was getting a homosexual boys in prison movie. Instead I got a British gang movie with a conflic
