Vintage gay guys
For many, June represents the month of pride; a time to celebrate, teach and communicate all that is queer, gay and fabulous. Although today entity gay isn’t much of a deal, back in the 50’s it was a dangerous label to have. Throughout history, thousands have lost their lives because they were labeled as ‘gay’ or ‘queer’ and many lived out their true sexual preferences in secrecy. As it’s almost the end of Pride month, I wanted to have a observe at some celebrities from the golden age of Hollywood who were homosexual, or at least thats what the rumours said. It’s difficult to understand if all these celebrities, and of course many more, were truly lgbtq+, but I wanted to share a few stories just so see how far we’ve come. Glad pride everyone.

31 Vintage Photos Of LGBT+ People Proving They Are Not “Something Millennials Invented”
They say true affection knows no bounds – yet not everyone can quite understand this idea and try to enforce their possess views on how love should stare like. This is especially prevalent when it comes to love between lgbtq+ couples, with some people going as far as calling it “something millennials invented”.
Tired of this prejudice, former priest Nathan Monk has collected a series of vintage photos of gay couples, proving they were always there but were afraid of openly showing their feelings. “I start the photos online through a couple of different posts,” said Father Nathan in an interview with Bored Panda. “I shared them because I reflect it’s important to remember those that come before us, those that fought, and struggled to live their real life. I consider it’s important to be reminded that LGBTQ+ have always been part of society and always will be. That reality should be lovingly accepted instead of shunned and ridiculed.”

Love is love and that's how it's been since the dawn of bloke. However, navigating social dynamics in the past was way more difficult than today. Same-sex relationships had been seen as a sin, repressed through rule enforcement and judicial mechanisms, and even condemned with death penalties. Luckily, we now live in a time where gay and female homosexual couples can legally marry. And to celebrate the increased well-being within these communities, a former priest who goes by the identify Nathan Monk has compiled a series of vintage pics, showing how lgbtq+ couples looked assist in the day.

As you can see, I’m mixing things up a bit with this week’s Vintage Gay post. I obey an art blog (you can see it in my blogroll) called ultrawolvesunderthefullmoon and the artwork of this Japanese artist caught my attention. In the images above and below I watch gay men from the 1980s. Their clothing, preppy haircuts, and cleancut look scream 1980s to me.
Ben Kimura (木村べん) b. 1947 – d. 2003 was a Japanese gay erotic artist who along with George Takeuchi and Sadao Hasegawa, is noted as a pivotal figure in the second wave of contemporary gay artists that emerged in Japan in the 1970s.
