Country star reveals frustrating misconception fans still have four years after her divorce
Carly Pearce is sick of people asking about her heartbreak and her ex-husband - especially since she's been divorced for four years.
The country star, 34, split from Michael Ray, 36, in June 2020, but says fans still can't help persist to speculate over what - or who - her songs are about.
The Grammy winner distributed the information after a fan asked her what the biggest public misconception about her is during a recent Q&A on social media.
The songstress replied: 'That I'm not over my divorce.'
She added that many of her listeners seemed to presume she was still writing about her divorce in the new songs she was releasing - but it was not something she thought about anymore.

Ask Carly Pearce for one word that describes her relationship with boyfriend Michael Ray and she'll come with "easy." The couple have been digital dating for the better part of 2018 and even three months after going public (which came elongated after they officially started dating), the "Every Little Thing" hitmaker still nearly blushes talking about him.
"It’s just easy," Pearce says. "He completely makes who I am and the parts of me that make me Carly shine, and I’ve never experienced that before."
It's under this pretense that she'll talk about how heartbreak — including the one that inspired her hit debut unpartnered — is a good thing, because it means you're not settling.
