If you think you have a problem with alcohol or demand to speak with another alcoholic, please call the Boulder County Intergroup hotline number at 303-447-8201.
Unwanted disruptions are taking place during some online meetings using the Zoom videoconference service.* Experience from A.A. members and Intergroups suggests groups can decrease these disruptions by using specific safety and privacy features available on that service, and by giving service responsibilities to members to mention safety and disruption concerns. Some suggestions from members and other Intergroups include:
- Disable File Transfer
- Disable Screen Sharing for Users
- Disable ability for attendees to un-mute themselves
- Consider locking meetings after the meeting starts
- Have a Co-Host who can mute/unmute participants and if necessary, spin off a participant’s video/remove a disruptive participant
- Disable private chat and chat recording
- Set your username for anonymity

Types of AA Meetings
Big Book: AA programs in Pennsylvania often main attraction the Big Book in discussions. Clients find inspiration from the lives of real people who overcame alcohol use disorder.
Discussion: AA discussion meetings in Pennsylvania are structured around a central topic related to alcoholism and recovery. After opening the meeting and sharing the topic, leaders may share briefly from a related AA communicate . Then, they’ll add their own insights and inspire others to participate in the conversation.
LGBTQ: Selected AA chapters focus on providing a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community, and generally welcome LGBTQ+ allies. These groups prioritize members’ recovery and sobriety within a non-heteronormative context.
Literature: Pennsylvania literature-led AA meetings are support group meetings for people who are impacted by alcohol addiction, including those suffering from alcoholism and those who own loved ones addicted to alcohol. These no-cost society meetings are based on the Big Book of AA and other literature by AA founders and leaders as part of a 12-step addiction recovery program.
